10-Yr-Old Boy Fighting For Life After Shielding His Little Sister From Philadelphia Plane Crash

The plane crash in Philadelphia recently has changed many lives. This includes one family, and the 10-year-old boy in it who is now fighting for his life.

In Philadelphia, a medical jet carrying a child patient and mother crashed on January 31. It devastated a neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia, leaving seven people dead including one person who was in a car nearby.

Mexico’s president confirmed on Saturday morning that the six people on the plane were all Mexican nationals. Along with those who perished, there were 19 individuals injured as a result of the incident. This included Andre Howard, a 10-year-old.

Andre was with his younger sister at the time of the crash. His father was also there. Some news reports reveal that he may have been one of the first patients to arrive at the hospital that day.

Andre’s mother, Lashawn Hamiel spoke with the local news station, saying: “My baby’s in there. It’s hard to see him like that. As a mother, what am I supposed to do? But he’s good. He’s pushing through.”

Andres’ father, who shares the same name as his son thought that it was a car crash at first. He said: “But then you see a flurry of fire in the air and then a bunch of debris shooting everywhere.”

He also spoke about the details associated with the injury of his son. He said: “My son… tells his little sister to get down and he grabs her. I hear the glass shatter, I turn around, there’s a piece of metal sticking out of my son’s head from the plane..”

Despite the injury, he is still holding on to hope that his son will pull through. He said: “They pretty much told us my son wasn’t supposed to make it. Jefferson also told us that they didn’t do children’s trauma surgeries. But they did for us, which was nothing but God.”

When they first spoke to the father, they told him that his son would never walk again. Overnight, 10-year-old Andre began to make amazing improvements.

This prompted his father to say: “To face death yesterday and speaking today, stepping up for his sister like I trained him and his other brothers to do, off of instinct – he’s my hero.”

His mother also echoed his comments, adding: “He’s strong. He’s a jokester but he’s strong… He’s a superhero.”

We hope that the family is able to make a full recovery.
