Figure skating is a sporting event that is loved around the world. It isn’t just the athletic ability of the skaters, it is the beauty of what they are able to do when they are on the ice.
A Russian figure skater who has captivated many fans of the sport recently is Alexandra ‘Sasha’ Trusova. There is no denying that she is a pleasure to watch on the ice and that was clearly seen at the Skate Canada figure skating competition.
The people who were at Skate Canada absolutely loved watching Alexandra in her black and white dress and matching hairstyle on the ice. Once it hit YouTube, however, it blew up with millions watching.
As far as talent is concerned, Alexandra is in a class of her own. She is near the lead of the women’s figure skating competition, including the quadruple jump, which has been something that was only done by male skaters.
Female skaters did not even attempt the quadruple jump, not because they were unable to do it but because it was seen as being inappropriate. One American skater was even reprimanded for including it in a performance.
That is no longer the case, however, and Alexander shows that she is able to accomplish those jumps without any problem. It is no wonder that she has a lot of medals over the past few years, including four bronze, two silver, and three gold.
Alexander also won at the World Junior Championships, and now that she has reached 18, there is no doubt that she will be taking home medals in the adult competition soon.
