Vince Gill Leaks A Song You’ve Never Heard When Paying Tribute To Chris Stapleton

When a song becomes popular, we hear it so many times that we can often sing it by heart. Even years after we least hear it, we can still sing along when we hear it on the radio.

At times, however, we may get the opportunity to hear a song that was written by someone famous many years ago but never performed. These songs were tucked away for one reason or another, but when they are let loose, the effect can be amazing.

One man who took the opportunity to do this was Vince Gill. He was playing a tribute for his friend, Chris Stapleton at the 15th ACM honors in Nashville.

When he told the audience that he had a song that the two of them had co-wrote, he said that they never heard it and that neither of them knew it very well. He then introduced the song to the audience, ‘You Don’t Want to Love a Man like Me’.

There may have been many reasons to be at the awards that day, but this was a highlight that nobody was going to forget. It was a nice way for Stapleton to be honored and he was given the Merrill Haggard Spirit Award for his contributions to the country music genre. Stapleton also expressed his admiration of Gill, and how the two of them had worked together.

This is a song that you have to hear, and you can hear it in the following video:
