There are many singers who have reached the level of being a household name. There is one singer, however, who received that honor in a very interesting way.
Susan Boyle is a singer that people around the world are familiar with. It was on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009 that she first grabbed our attention when she sang ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ and the judges were absolutely blown away.
It wasn’t long before she was known around the world for her beautiful voice. Interestingly enough, the ticket sales for Les Misérables also increased after the performance.
In the end, she came in second during that season of Britain’s Got Talent, but there was no denying the fact that she had a gift. She was even invited to perform at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant, which is an honor that very few people ever receive.
Susan Boyle also put out two albums, I Dreamed a Dream and The Gift and they were very successful. In the same year she was on both the UK and US charts at the top two times.
Just when you thought you heard music as beautiful as she can offer, she does something to top it. This version of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ is something that will leave you with goosebumps. Enjoy.
