There are times when we may get a considerable amount of attention in our lives but as we get older, it may start to fade. That is not the case with the celebrity we are talking about today.
Jacqueline Bisset is an amazing woman in so many different ways. She has been in some 50 movies over a 58-year career and even though she is 78 years old, she still continues to go strong.
She made her film debut in 1966 in Roman Polanski’s Cul-de-Sac but became famous after appearing in two films in 1968, The Sweet Ride and Detective. She received a Golden Globe nomination for the former.
Over the years, she played in many well-known movies, including Miss Goodthighs in the spy parody Casino Royale (1967), a mother in Sleepy Time Gal (2001), First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in America’s Prince: The John F. Kennedy Jr. Story (2003), and Anna Karenina (1919). That is only scratching the surface.
Something that many people don’t know about Jacqueline is the fact that she speaks three languages, English, French, and Italian. In 2010, she received France’s highest official order, the Legion of Honor. She also received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023 from the Sedona International Film Festival.
She starred on the silver screen along with some of the top actors, but she never married. Rumors did circulate that she was in a romance with Steve McQueen, but she says it isn’t true.
She spoke about him saying, “He was attractive, but a little scary.” She also said that it wouldn’t have worked because he was an urban American and she was very English.
Something else that you might find interesting is that she is Angela Jolie’s godmother. Jacqueline has also appeared in some recent movies, including The Lodger (2020) and most recently, Loren & Rose (2022).
One thing that she is known for is aging gracefully. She said: “I believe, if you want to look good, you’ve got to forgive everyone,” and considers it the best cosmetic procedure. She also said that despite having complexes as a younger woman, she never went for cosmetic surgery.
Jacqueline Bisset is someone who has spent decades entertaining us in Hollywood and we wish for many more years.
