When you look at the pictures from a large-scale celebrity event, you never quite know what you are going to see. People always dress for the red carpet, and it seems as if Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande have done just that.
It happened at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards when Ariana Grande showed up in an outfit that paid tribute to the Yellow Brick Road. In addition, Cynthia Erivo was dressed up perfectly for her role in Wicked,
Cynthia Erivo reportedly spent about five hours in the chair for her manicurist to put on the new nail art that was part of the get-up. The 37-year-old star was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture-Music or Comedy.
Erivo may not have had the green skin that she did in the movie, but her team did try to incorporate green into the look for the event.
She said: “Green is Elphaba’s skin color, but what she wears a lot is black, so I’ve been trying to mess around with the shapes and the structure of different kinds of black dresses. We’ve been playing around with it and bringing green in occasionally.”
She also added: “This took five hours! My wonderful manicurist did it today.”
She spoke about her friendship with Grande, who played with her on Wicked as Glinda.

Erivo said: “There’s stuff that people don’t see when we’re off camera. Our conversations that we have without everyone listening and how we are together after the cameras shut down.
“We’re just silly sometimes. We have our ways of making sure we can communicate without words. I love that about us. We’ve gotten to really know each other.

“She can tell immediately when I’m tired and I can tell immediately when she’s tired, I can tell when she’s nervous, she can tell when I’m nervous. We know exactly what each other needs. We’ve just spent that much time together and have been willing to learn each other that way and it’s just been lovely.”
Both of the actresses earned Golden Globe nominations for their roles in Wicked.
