The death of any celebrity is something that touches thousands, if not millions of lives. Unfortunately, we have such a death to report to you today.
Mandisa, who was a former American Idol contestant and a Christian singer died at her Nashville home. She was 47 years of age and her death was confirmed.
Her 2022 memoir, “Out of the Dark: My Journey Through the Shadows to Find God’s Joy” opened the door to her personal life and some of the mental struggle she had faced. She fought anxiety and depression after losing a close friend to cancer. She referred to it as a ‘deep dark’ phase in her life.
This is something she spoke about with People in a 2017 interview. She said that her friend’s death affected her on a very deep level, causing her to turn to food for comfort.
She said: “When she died, it shook me to my core. I fell into a deep hole of sadness. I went back to my old ways, which are food.”
Ultimately, that would be what took her life as it was revealed that she died as a result of class III obesity. Complications associated with obesity led to her death, and it was considered death by natural causes.
May she rest in peace.
