Mother-In-Law Demands That She Breastfeed Baby And Refuses To Stop

We sometimes may run across some strange situations, especially when we are dealing with the family. Each family has its own dynamics but sometimes, things just go off the deep end.

One woman was frustrated over the situation and she went to an online form in order to express what she was going through. The post has since been deleted but it will forever be burned into our memories.

The mother-to-be said that her husband’s mother had learned something interesting when searching the Internet. Grandmothers in some cultures will help to breast-feed the grandbabies, and she wants to give it a try.

Needless to say, the pregnant mother is not very happy about the possibility of her grandmother taking over in that regard. In fact, it seems as if there aren’t really any boundaries that the mother-in-law will not push through.

Kindly, the daughter-in-law did say that her mother-in-law is well-meaning but she’s also said that she is a little goofy. The baby was due and the mother-in-law’s idea was to chip in where she wasn’t welcome.

The new mother-to-be said: “She found articles from different cultures that do this and is thinking it’s a great idea. “I have told her gross no, my mom got involved and said no, but she is still finding articles and sending them to me about all the benefits.”

To add a little bit of flavor to the topic, the grandmother is in her 60s and that isn’t usually the age that you start breast-feeding.

The mother-to-be continued: “I don’t know what to do. I’m beyond done with this woman, but out of respect for my husband I am trying to keep a level head, but I’m starting to fail with my due date fast approaching.”

As you can imagine, there were plenty of people who commented on the subject. Most were just saying that it was a bad idea and perhaps she should get her husband to help shut the mother-in-law down. Others were surprised that a 60-year-old could still breast-feed.

This is a topic that will continue to be debated here and there but one thing is certain, it is going to be debated.
