When it comes to action movies, many of us feel that it would be difficult to beat Bruce Willis and the Die Hard movies. Thanks to Netflix, however, there is a new movie available and people can’t get enough of it.
That movie, Carry-On, stars Jason Bateman and Taron Egerton. You might say that it is similar to the Bruce Willis classic, but it also has its own twists as well.
The movie was released on December 13 and it was so well received that some people have already watched it twice. Carry-On is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who also directed The Shadows, and similarly to Die Hard, the movie is set on Christmas Eve.
Egerton is a transportation security agent, Ethan, who finds himself blackmailed by a mysterious character played by Bateman, Traveler. He wants Ethan to help him get some dangerous items smuggled onto a flight and he threatens him in the process.
Taron had a lot of praise for the way that the movie was filmed. He said: “Jason was amazing. He did a couple of days with me where he actually provided the voice, and he was there recording live with me, and that was a real luxury. The rest of the time I recorded it with an actor.”
Netflix also spoke up on the subject, with a very concise and somewhat elusive synopsis. It said: “A crowded airport. A dangerous suitcase. A mysterious criminal mastermind. On Christmas Eve, a security officer faces the ultimate travel nightmare.”
On Rotten Tomatoes, critics have already given it an 86% rating and fans are saying that it is ‘outstanding.’ People are definitely comparing it to Die Hard, and they really can’t seem to stop talking about it.
There are plenty of movies to watch these days, but it seems as if this one is a flick that should not be missed.
