When somebody dies, it is a tragedy that affects many people. Sometimes, there may even be additional details that surface weeks or perhaps even months after the death takes place.
Connor Kasin passed away on November 30 during a varsity ice hockey game. Unfortunately, he had lost consciousness during the game and the senior at Massapequa High School was not able to recover.
The game was held as part of a charity event by the Sabrina Bavaretta Memorial Foundation in The Town of Oyster Bay. It took place at the local skating rink and during a break in the play, the 17-year-old experienced a ‘sudden medical event’.
First responders were dispatched immediately to the scene after a call for help came in. CPR was started by civilians at the rink as well until the paramedics were able to take over.

They tried their best but unfortunately, Kasin was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. They have not yet disclosed the reason why he passed away or any additional details about the medical issue.
A statement was released by the Massapequa High School to express their concern and sorrow over what took place. It read: “It is heartbreaking to report that Kasin did not survive. His passing is devastating to the Massapequa community, and we offer our deepest condolences to Kasin’s family and friends.”
A statement was also issued by the Sharks Elite Youth Hockey team, as Kasin was also a member of that organization. They were requesting support and prayers for the family.
Many other students at the high school are also struggling with the loss. He is being described as a ‘good person’ and undoubtedly it will be some time before the issue is fully cleared.
People from around the world have sent tributes and condolences to the family of the hockey player. This included the New York Islanders Hockey Club.
Representative Anthony D’Esposito also sent in his condolences after learning about the death.
