CNN’s Anderson Cooper Gets Clobbered By Flying Debris While Hurricane Reporting

One of the biggest news events of this year had to do with the weather. Hurricane Helene, followed by Hurricane Milton raged into the United States causing destruction, death, and chaos.

Many broadcasters were out there to try to bring the news to us live as it happened. Even during the difficult storm that was blowing and the potential danger that was involved, they would be out in the weather but sometimes things went wrong.

That is what happened to Anderson Cooper, a reporter for CNN who was reporting on the hurricane when a piece of flying debris struck him. He was in Bradenton, a city that was just south of Tampa and it was one of the worst parts of the storm.

As hurricane Milton traveled across the Gulf of Mexico, it reached category five a number of times. It was a category three when it hit the coast, but was still bringing dangerous storm surge, high winds, torrential rainfall, and many other dangers. Cooper was out in the street discussing the situation when he was struck by the debris.

He said: “At the water now, and it’s really starting to pour over.” Waves and wind were pounding at him and then the object hit him in the face when he said: “Woah, OK, that wasn’t good.” He then said that he would be going in shortly.

Fans who were watching his report live expressed their concerns on social media. They were urging him to go back inside for his safety.

Others were expressing their frustration over the network that would put people in harm’s way and risk their lives just to get a new story.

Let’s hope that he is okay. We are sure he’s going to put himself in the most dangerous situations at some point in the future, but that is showbiz.
