Joy Behar Married A Younger Man After Dating For 29 Years

Some people become such a household name that it’s almost as if we know them, even though we’ve never met them in person. Joy Behar is one of those people.

Joy Behar was born on October 7, 1942 and is now celebrating her 84th birthday. You likely know her because of the time that she spent on the talk show, The View, which she has been on since 1997.

Perhaps you also remember that she was let go from her position in 2013 but was back in 2015. She had a good outlook on it, saying: “I was glad to be fired. I basically was sick of the show at that point for some reason, I don’t even remember why.”

Neither she nor the network can remember why she was let go during that time but she did say: “That was very stupid of them. But they learned their lesson.”

In October 2022, she let people know that she is not going anywhere. Although she could retire, it’s not her desire to do so.

Something interesting about her view on The View is that she still doesn’t know why so many people are watching it. She does say that she is ‘happy to be a part of it’ regardless.

Aside from being a well-known media personality, she is also a wife, mother, and grandmother. She has been married two times but now, she has a man by her side who is a few years younger than she is. They even dated for about 30 years before getting married.

Steve Janowitz, a retired schoolteacher is her second husband. They were together for 29 years before they got married in August 2011.

Behar opened up a little about the relationship at one point, saying that more arguments happen for a specific reason; the car.’

She revealed: “First of all, it’s always about the car. He’s always criticizing how I drive.” She admits that she is now a nervous driver after so many years with him in the car.

She was so nervous on one occasion that she crashed into a farm stand. She explained: “I had it in drive, and I forgot to take it out of drive. I got out of the car, and it started to roll down… it went into the farm stand anyway. It was too late. It was a tomato blight. I can’t go to that farm stand now. So that happened one time.”

When the couple went to Italy for 10 days, she said that it was ‘too much closeness.’ After returning, she wanted to take separate cars and meet at lunch but he didn’t like it. It ended up being a tense lunch.

As far as their marriage is concerned, she no longer feels like they are in the honeymoon phase. She just felt it was the right thing to marry someone she had been with for so many years.

She also revealed their secret to a long and lasting relationship. They aren’t overly sensitive and neither of them take any remarks to heart when they are together. She also said that he has a good sense of humor.

It’s nice to see they are doing well as a couple. We hope they have many more happy years together.
