Julie Andrews And Cher Give Tribute To Friend, 91-Yr-Old Carol Burnett

Time passes by very quickly and sometimes, it can even seem like it disappears in the blink of an eye. It just seems as if we were watching the Carol Burnett show on TV and now, she has turned 91 years of age.

Carol Burnett may be 91, but she is not done making us laugh. In order to celebrate her 90th birthday, which was quite a milestone, NBC held a tribute to her, ‘Carol Burnett, 90 Years of Laughter and Love.’

This was no small shindig. Some of the biggest names in Hollywood came to the party and paid tribute to her on the red carpet. It was amazing to see one star after the other mention her.

Julie Andrews was included in the list of superstars who paid her tribute. They have been close friends for many years.

Andrews said: “She brings out in the best in me and I think I bring out the worst in her, I don’t know why.

“It’s the opposite of what you would imagine.”

She said that when they met at a Chinese restaurant years ago, nobody else could get a word in edge-wise. After bonding instantly, she said it has never changed and referred to that bond as a ‘never ending friendship.’

Cher is someone else who has had a close friendship with Carol Burnett over the years. She said: “I would sneak out through the fence to go to the farmer’s market and we played practical jokes on each other.

“It was just easy and fun and that’s all we wanted to do.”

Jane Lynch, an actress also said that she remembers meeting Carol Burnett. In speaking about it, she said ‘She’s exactly the person that you hope she would be.’

Many other celebrities were there to pay tribute to Carol Burnett as well.

As far as Burnett was concerned, she was very excited. She said: “I’m so excited NBC decided to throw me a birthday party and invited all of my closest friends. I can’t wait to look back at so many wonderful moments throughout my career, I feel so lucky to share this night with everyone.”
