A lovely baby girl was born with a rare condition that causes dark spots to appear across her entire body.
32-year-old Toneka Rogers Robinson works as a quality analyst in Dallas, Texas, and her 34-year-old husband, Justin, owns his own business. The two met in high school and lived together for 17 years just before Toneka gave birth to their first daughter.
While she was pregnant, Toneka would visit her doctor for regular checkups, undergoing numerous tests to ensure all was well. Then in June 2021, they welcomed little Jireh.
The little girl was born healthy and happy, but the parents were initially concerned because her skin was covered with dark spots from head to toe.
However, doctors insured the couple right away that the marks were not dangerous, merely a superficial condition.
The couple has since made it their mention to make sure their daughter learns to embrace her differences and give her the confidence she needs to withstand ignorance.
Doctors diagnosed Jireh with congenital melanocytic nevus (CMN), which causes visible pigmented spots on the skin. These marks are present at birth.
Jireh’s parents were concerned when they first noticed the spots. The condition isn’t hereditary and is caused early in pregnancy when pigment cells become impaired while developing. One percent of babies worldwide have this condition, which increases the risk of melanoma.
However, Justin and Toneka are proud of their little angel and share her photos on Instagram to keep their families up to date. But, Jireh’s unique beauty has also gained her a lot of fans as today, over 12,000 folks follower her on Instagram.
These parents are proud to show their beautiful daughter to the world and what to teach others to learn how to embrace differences.
Tonka and Justin say they plan to teach their little girl that her skin is beautiful and never to let anyone convince her otherwise.
