Every once in a while, we have a movie that really changes things in some way or another. Thinking back several decades ago, we can think about movies such as Star Wars or Indiana Jones. The Matrix is another movie that really changed things on the silver screen and it is still popular even down to this day with a huge following. The star of Matrix, Kiana Reeves, has gone on to do many other movies but perhaps the one that has gotten the most attention is John Wick. It’s hard to believe that it has been several years since the third chapter, Parabellum came out and now we are looking forward to the fourth chapter.
Of course, Keanu Reeves is going to be back again playing John Wick but he is also going to be joined on the screen by a martial arts legend, Donnie Yen. He is going to costar behind Reeves and, according to the announcement, we have quite a movie to watch. Of course, there have been many stars that have been popular from Asia and perhaps we can think of some martial arts stars that have been around over the years. Donnie Yen, however, is among the most successful so there is no doubt that it is going to be quite a combination when all is said and done.
Perhaps the most well-known role that Donnie Yen played was as the Grand Master in the IP Command series. He also played in Rogue One, and the Disney film, Mulan. It’ll be amazing to see what he is able to bring to the John Wick series.
Although the news is exciting, you will have to wait before you are able to see the new movie released. Almost exactly a year, to be precise, as it is going to be released on May 27, 2022.
