Couple Starts Adoption Journey By Bringing In 7 Siblings After Parents Die

Most people who raise children look forward to the opportunity of being on their own. That type of empty nest syndrome, however, can either go good for the couple or bad. In some cases, they may have grown accustomed to caring for the children and they really didn’t care for their own relationship. As a result, it can be difficult to find yourself alone and wondering when you are going to see the children again. Perhaps you may even try getting a dog or another pet to fill the void, but for one couple, they did something that was far beyond adopting a dog or cat.

Pam and Gary Willis live in Menifee, California. They have been together for a lifetime, as they were both teenagers whenever they first met. They raised five children of their own and eventually, found themselves living at home by themselves. They were doing okay with each other, but they didn’t like the fact that the house was so quiet. They made the decision to foster children and they took in nine children over the course of six years. In January 2019, however, there was something that came up and it changed their lives. In fact, it changed their lives in a way that most people could not even imagine.

There were seven siblings who had lost both of their parents in an automobile accident. When Pam saw this news on Facebook, it touched her heart but she didn’t let it stop at that. She decided that she and her husband were going to care for the children and provide them with a home that they so desperately needed. When she saw the children’s pictures, she knew that she was supposed to be their mother.

As it turns out, her husband had similar feelings. Although they were in their 50s, it was something that was on both of their minds and they had the support of friends and family as well. After they applied and went through the screening, they were matched with the children who are Adelino, 15; Ruby, 13; Aleecia, 9; Anthony, 8; Aubriella, 7; Leo, 5; and Xander, 4. It was a joyful moment, but they knew that the children needed a lot of TLC because of what they had been through. Eventually, they were able to adopt the children and as they say, the rest is history.
