It doesn’t matter who we are, we all enjoy something special happening in our lives from time to time. Perhaps the most enjoyable part of it is that we don’t tend to see it coming. Of course, we have special days that require a lot of planning but when something happens out of the blue and is completely unexpected, it has a way of touching our heart in ways that most of us don’t really give much consideration. This recently happened to a woman who boarded a plane and wasn’t expecting a thing to happen. She was very comfortable on planes, because she has been on them for years.
When Michelle went on board that day, she had a surprise in store for her mother. You see, her mom had been on many planes over the years, because she was a flight attendant for Capital Airlines about six decades ago. That company merged with United Airlines in 1961 and she had quit her job before the merger to focus on her three young children. She still loves being in the air, however, and her daughter wanted to give her a surprise that she would remember for years to come. It happened when the captain said: “If you were a Capital Airlines stewardess, would you mind raising your hand?”
Michelle was prepared for the announcement and she captured the moment on video. The entire plane started clapping and then the captain even called her the greatest mom ever! Although she says that she is about ready to cry, they are tears of joy but it was even more than something random, the captain was her own son!
Michelle had arranged the surprised with her brother. Their father was United Airlines pilot so it seems as if everything having to do with planes runs in the family. Although the mother knew that her son was a pilot, it seems as if she didn’t know that he will be flying the plane that day.
