There are many things that are important to us in life but food is perhaps something that is at or near the top of the list. After all, without adequate food, our health will suffer and it could even cost us our lives. Most people are able to get by from one day to the next but there are many people throughout the world who are living in very difficult times and they try to save money in any way possible. One of the ways that they may try to save money is through buying in bulk, and that is what this Indian man tried to do. The problem was, things didn’t quite turn out as he expected.
Shiv Ramda is a man who lives in India and his brother-in-law had a significant situation occur. It was a problem that would have freaked most people out but this man decided he would post everything on Twitter as it was happening in the form of live updates. It seems as if there was some type of miscommunication and rather than buying some rice in bulk, an entire truck full of rice was delivered outside of their house. It wasn’t long before people realized that more was going on than simply having Rice delivered. Quite honestly, you can’t make something like this up.
Rice is something that is eaten around the world but in India, it is a staple that people rely on to eat from day-to-day. It tends to be a part of every meal and according to at least one survey, a rural Indian eats about 13 pounds of rice a month!
Considering the fact that India holds a lot of the world’s population, the amount of rice that they consume must be off the charts. Of course, it has more to do with the fact that it is just a staple food, it’s sometimes used for worship and even ceremonial purposes.
When people heard about what was taking place outside of this man’s house, they couldn’t stop commenting:
