The human eye is absolutely incredible. It pulls in information from the world around us on a continual basis and from the moment that we see something, our brain begins to register and to react according to what we are seeing. Most people don’t really stop to take a moment and think about the sense of sight but in reality, there is a lot to consider. We live in a world of light and it is actually our perception of what we are seeing that allows us to see color as well as to see everything from shapes to seeing things in 3 dimensions.
Although we trust our eyes to give us the information we need to survive, there are going to be times when our eyes will deceive us. This isn’t just a metaphor, it’s a fact. When the eye takes in more information that the brain can process, we end up with an optical illusion. At times, there may even be things hidden in pictures on purpose in order to test us and perhaps even to hone our skill. That is the case in the following picture. When you first look at it, you might have the wrong perspective. There are 2 people that are easy to spot but can you spot the 3rd?
