Woman Trains Her Cat to Play a Mini Piano When He’s Ready for Dinner

If you’ve ever trained a dog, you probably know that it’s not that hard to get a dog to do some basic “tricks.” Dogs are eager to please and seem to instinctively pick up on whatever it is their human companions are trying to teach them to do. You can easily train a dog to sit, lay down, roll over, fetch, and even more complicated tasks. And for sure, no one is better at begging at the food bowl than a dog. My dogs get so excited to eat every night and mostly it’s because my husband puts a couple of little treats at the bottom of their food bowls to encourage them to eat up the delicious and nutritious kibble.

However, have you ever seen a trained cat? Moreover, have you ever actually tried to train a cat? To be honest, it’s like trying to train a rock. I have cats and they have minds of their own. If you’re reading this, you probably have at least a passing interest in felines, so you know exactly what I’m talking about. However, a cat can be trained if someone has the right amount of patience, and if the cat has the personality to want to learn new things. A can from Philadelphia named Winslow has been delighting the internet with his latest trick: he plays the piano when it’s dinner time.

When Winslow’s human companion, Kate Nyx, first brought Winslow home, there was a huge adjustment period. Winslow was from the streets of Camden, Kate says, and she fell in love with him the moment she saw him. She said she took one look at his little face and said, “This is the one.” And to Kate, he just looked like a Winslow. From the moment she laid eyes on him, she knew he was going to be Winslow. But here’s the best part: Kate says Winslow is the first cat she’s ever had who has liked her back. We all know exactly what she means, don’t we? Cats have minds of their own.

Some cats meow when they’re hungry. Not Winslow. He does his adorable little piano trick. He used to run around screaming when he was hungry, but now he plays the piano. Kate says that he goes “up and down the keyboard depending on how little we’re paying attention.” She added that if she isn’t paying enough attention, Winslow becomes increasingly aggressive, sometimes even playing the piano with his forehead. What an adorable guy! Watch this video below.
