Jason Momoa and Jimmy Fallon Compete In Hysterical Trident Throwing Contest

Jason Momoa, without a doubt, is one of the manliest actors in Hollywood. With his trademark beard and long wild hair, he’s captivated audiences ever since they saw him in his iconic role as Khal Drogo, everyone’s favorite fierce and brutal warlord on the hit fantasy drama Game of Thrones. Personally, I think they killed his character off way too early! But, anyway, Momoa has gone one to become one of the hottest action stars in Hollywood, and he’s totally made DC Comic’s “Aquaman” character a bonafide superhero on par with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man character. I mean, comic book fans know that Aquaman, a dude who can talk to fish, is considered one of the lamest comic book heroes of all time, but thanks to Momoa, he’s now a blockbuster hero right up there with Spiderman and Superman.

And if you think Momoa has an interesting background, you’re right. His father was a painter and Hawaiin native while his mom was a photographer with a mixed European and Native American ancestry. However, he was raised by his mom and spent most of his childhood in Iowa before moving to Hawaii to reconnect with his dad when he was in his twenties. And, like many of us, he had a crush on Lisa Bonet, who played the eldest daughter on the Cosby Show in the ’80s, ever since he was eight years old. He ended up meeting her at a jazz club in 2005, thanks to some mutual friends, and they ended up falling in love and getting married! In this video, we see Momoa promoting his “Aquaman” movie on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

During the segment, Fallon and Momoa engage in a friendly trident throwing contest using “real” metal tridents. The 6’4 actor towered 6’0 tall Fallon, making the host shrink down even further in comedic discomfort as he loomed over him.

The segment really showcases Momoa’s sense of humor as the two men try and fail over and over again to throw and land their unwieldy and incredibly impractical tri-pronged javelins.
