Macaulay Culkin Addresses a Few Hilarious Home Alone Conspiracy Theories with Jimmy Fallon

When it comes to great family movies, there are a lot of contenders, but for those of us growing up in the 90s, Home Alone was without question one of the gold standards. The movie featured Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, a chronically ignored middle child who, through a series of events, ends up abandoned by his family at their HomeHome while they took a trip to Europe for the Christmas holidays. During the movie, two burglars, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, try to break in and steal his family’s belongings. However, young Kevin proves more than a match for the thieves as he builds a series of intricate traps to foil their dastardly plans.

The movie also has some interesting trivia associated with it. For example, the idea for Home Alone came to creator John Hughes while he was making the 1989 hit comedy Uncle Buck. During the movie, Culkin’s character interrogates a babysitter candidate through the mail slot, and in Home Alone, his character has a similar scene with Stern via the doggie door. Also, Culkin’s younger brother played Kevin’s bedwetting cousin, Fuller. In this video, we see a Culkin all grown up as he chats with Jimmy Fallon about his iconic Home Alone franchise.

In the video, Fallon, and Culkin talk about the actor’s time in a Velvet Underground cover band called the Pizza Underground, in which the band replaced many of the original lyrics with pizza references. Fallon then asked him about some of the bizarre conspiracy theories he hears about himself. And Culkin replied, “Oh, I die all the time.” They then started talking about some of the crazy conspiracy theories surrounding the Home Alone movies. My favorite was the rumor that Culkin’s character Kevin grew up to become Jigsaw! Which now that I think about it, sort of makes sense…
