Released as the lead single for the album in 2016, the song was first put out there for streaming and digital downloads. Music critics raved about “24K Magic,” comparing Bruno’s vocals to James Brown, and describing the song as fun, engaging, and evoking feelings of nostalgia for listeners.

As far a commercial success, the song sold very well, peaking at number three in Australia and Canada and number four in the U.S. The Recording Industry Association of America has certified “24K Magic” five times platinum, as has the Australian Recording Industry Association. In Canada, the song was certified four-times platinum, and it reached number one in France, New Zealand, Argentina, and Belgium. In France, it received diamond certification, and it received platinum in New Zealand.
