There are some celebrities who tend to avoid the spotlight at any cost. They may be very visible when it comes to singing on stage or acting in a movie, but their personal lives are often so far away from the spotlight that it is difficult to know anything about them. Of course, we read about them online and we look at any pictures that are available but those really only give us a tiny glimpse into their personal reality. On occasion, we hear about one of those celebrities who keeps to themselves but they also do something behind the scenes that lets us know they are amazing.
Johnny Depp is a celebrity that does not like being in the spotlight. Even though he is one of the more popular actors, especially when it comes to his role on the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, he still doesn’t enjoy being too public with his personal life. That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have a heart and doesn’t want to do something for others, even though he is seen by many as being a little standoffish and perhaps bazaar. What he did at the BC Children’s Hospital, however, was anything but bizarre, it was incredible.
We often think of Johnny Depp in his role as Capt. Jack sparrow and he certainly did make that role what it is to many of us. We are used to seeing him in the movies and on occasion, we may even see him in his costume out and about but on this particular day, he did something totally unexpected. He went to Vancouver so that he could visit the children that were patients at a hospital.
It is always difficult to be stuck in the hospital but when you are a child, it is especially difficult. The BC Children’s Hospital Foundation posted this video of Johnny Depp in his pirate garb, walking around the hospital making visits to the patients and families. He was there for over five hours and he did a lot in that time to help them feel a little better.
