Pro Basketball Player Shows Extreme Sportsmanship By Helping A Player Who Fell Rather Than Making A Shot

From the time that many of us are very young, we play sports and we enjoy being out on the field with our friends and classmates. There is just a level of camaraderie that we enjoy when we are playing and we may find that we continue to play sports, even as we get older. After all, it’s a lot of fun when we get together with friends for a backyard game of football or perhaps shoot some hoops. That being said, we may enjoy playing the sport as amateurs but we don’t necessarily get too serious about it. We recognize that there are boundaries and we tried to stick with them.

That may not always be the case when somebody is playing a sport on a professional level. It doesn’t matter if they are in college or perhaps even in the pros, they do what they can to win the game. After all, that is what they are out there to do but every once in a while, we are reminded that these sports heroes are also people on a very personal level. It is sure to be how you feel when you see what Stephen Adams did when playing basketball for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He may have been out there to win the game, but it doesn’t mean that he was short on compassion while doing so.

When the Oklahoma City Thunder was playing the Denver Nuggets, Adams was standing near the basket when a pass came his way. It was getting near the end of the game and there were only eight minutes on the clock so you would think that he would quickly turn and shoot the basket to put some more points on the board. He was going to do it, but things changed very quickly.

When one of the Denver Nuggets players, Mason Plumlee came up to defend the shot, he misjudged and jumped before he should have. When coming down he did so on Adam’s shoulder and began to fall to the ground. Adams could’ve taken the opportunity to take the shot but rather than doing so, he tried to help the other player from falling. You don’t get to see things like this very often but when you do, it’s something incredible to see
