There are some singers who are destined to be loved forever. Perhaps one of the singers that comes to your mind is Freddie Mercury. If you happen to be a fan of Queen or if you just love rock ‘n’ roll music, I’m sure that you can sing along to many of his songs by heart. Like many superstars, he continues to be popular, even though he is gone. This is also true of many other performers, such as Elvis Pressley. I’m sure that we could name a few of our favorites as well, but not everyone remains a superstar for life.
Sometimes, there are stars who rise to great heights very quickly and then they tend to fizzle out just as quickly. One of those individuals that you may be familiar with, especially if you are a child of the 70s is Sean Cassidy. He had a remake of the song, Da Doo Ron Ron back in 1977 when he was only 18 years old. His brother was David Cassidy, the star of the Partridge family but he was also famous in his own right.
If you were a child of the 70s or if you just happen to love the 70s, you no doubt remember this song very well. It was one that they played on the radio over and over again and Sean Cassidy became ultra-famous as a result of it. You sometimes still hear it on the radio, although it isn’t likely to play on rock ‘n’ roll stations, you are more likely to hear it on oldie stations.
Interestingly, this song was not new to Sean Cassidy. It had already been played a number of years earlier and the lyrics were slightly different. When Sean Cassidy performed it, he had to change the word ‘Bill’ to ‘Jill’. Regardless of whether it was a remake or not, it went to number one in the United States and you are sure to recognize it in the following video:
