BB King In A 1973 Performance At A Prison Near New York City

There are many different types of music and you probably have a favorite that you could listen to for the rest of your life. Perhaps you’ve even been asked a question, such as, what type of music would you listen to if you only had two songs to take with you on a desert island? It seems like a ridiculous question, but I’m sure that all of us could choose a particular genre that we would stick to for the rest of our life. That being said, variety is the spice of life as well.

One of the types of music that is often overlooked in favor of something more popular are the blues. The rhythm and blues have been around for many years and generations past have absolutely thrilled to this type of music. When you hear a blues riff on a guitar, you just can’t help but get in the mood and when somebody is skilled at playing the blues, there is nothing quite like it. We may even think of somebody who has played the blues in the past, such as Stevie Ray Vaughn but there is never going to be anyone who does it quite as well as BB King.

If you’ve never had the opportunity to hear BB King in concert, you really missed out on a rare treat. Unfortunately, that time has gone but it doesn’t mean that it is completely out of the question. After all, we have the opportunity to hear him in online videos and to watch one of his great performances.

BB King has put on many performances across the United States and even around the world. It might surprise you that the one he considers to be the best live performance, however, took place at a prison just outside of New York City. Watch the following video and you will be convinced that he was one of the greatest musicians of all time.
