Game shows have been a rather interesting part of our history for a number of years. Many of them have come and gone but there are also some that stuck around long enough that they could become an epic part of our culture. For example, some of the more popular game shows include Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. We can see them when we turn on the television and it is likely that they will continue to play for many years into the future. There are also some interesting and enjoyable game shows that did not stand the test of time.
One of the game shows that was popular back in the 80s was Super Password. It had some contestants that were chosen and they would play along with celebrities in order to guess words when they were given certain hints. It was a relatively simple show when all was said and done but it also allowed for a lot of mistakes, because people would get in a hurry and they would be nervous. After all, there was often a lot of money at stake and if the wrong answer was given, it could cost a lot. That isn’t even to mention the fact that millions of people would be watching the show, including in the future if you just happen to cause a blooper to happen.
The blooper reel in the video below is from a 1984 Super Password show in December of that year. Dick Gautier and Vicki Lawrence were the celebrities that were helping the other contestants to compete for some excellent prices and money. Unfortunately, there were many things that happened to go wrong during this week and we get to enjoy all of them in the video below.
There is no doubt that everybody knew the rules of the game but not everybody was going to follow those rules exactly. Sometimes it could be chalked up to nervousness and at other times, they may have actually been trying to sneak one by the judges. In any case, it gives us a great opportunity to laugh and you can see it all in the following video
