There are many things that can bring a group of people together and make them feel stronger about themselves individually and as a group. There certainly is something to be said about the comradery that we feel when we gather as a unit and stand together to face some unseen foe. Of course, it doesn’t always need to be life or death in order to move us but when it is life or death, the results are often much more powerful than anything could ever break.
One of the things we may experience in life that can bring us together is music. It seems to be universal, and something that we carry with us in our heart wherever we go. I’m sure you have felt the power of music in your life many times. Just try to imagine that moment when you feel at your lowest and then, suddenly, your favorite song begins playing on the radio. It doesn’t matter how poorly we feel at that moment, the music is going to pick us up and make us feel better again. The same is also true for many of our emotions, and music just seems to be the master over them.
If you have ever fought in the military, you realize that the bonds you have with those people are the strongest you will experience in your lifetime. We can feel it for years after we have come home but when we are with them on the battlefield, there is nothing that could shake our loyalty to each other. Marines experience those feeling often and sometimes, they just need to share them with others.
In the video below, you see a group of Marines together singing a song. It is ‘Days of Elijah’ and their voices blend together in a way that will bring chills down your spine. As you watch the following video, you can feel the strength that these men gain from each other and from the music they are singing.
