More than likely, you fall into the category of people who know who Freddie Mercury was. In fact, you may truly appreciate his music and all that he brought to the industry. He was one of those individuals that just seemed to be flamboyant enough that he would make a difference and stand out in your mind. At the same time, however, he wasn’t just about appearance, he had a lot of musical ability and he wasn’t afraid to share it with audiences worldwide.
Unfortunately, Freddie Mercury is no longer alive, having died a number of years ago from complications associated with age. It was devastating to his fans, who suddenly realized that they would never hear anything new from the rock singer ever again. It didn’t stop them from enjoying what he had already released and even down to this day, people listen to Queen on the radio and on their electronic devices. He was a rock star worth remembering on many different levels but as it turns out, he also had talents that he didn’t often let show.
There is no doubt that Freddie Mercury was an accomplished rock singer and his sound was so unique, it still is popular down to this day. He also tended to be a big personality on the stage and elsewhere, with his crazy outfits and outlandish behavior. He wasn’t limited to only rock music, however, because his voice had a quality that allowed it to be heard elsewhere.
Montserrat Caballé is a famous opera singer and Freddie Mercury sang a duet with her that surprised many people. They had a great friendship and formed a partnership because they had a love of music similar to each other. They were even able to record a theme song for the Barcelona Summer Olympics in 1992. One thing is certain, when you hear Freddie Mercury singing opera, you may never look at his music the same way again.
