It isn’t unusual for us to see people living on the street. Depending upon the part of the world where you live, you may even see them on almost every corner. Our hearts often go out to these individuals as they suffer in such a way but we sometimes see them so frequently, we tend to turn a blind eye to their difficulties. Sometimes, we may even put the blame back on them, feeling as if they somehow did these things to themselves.
Although we may feel this way at times, there is also plenty of room for empathy when it comes to individuals living on the street. We can be empathetic with any of them, but when it comes to children living on the street, it really is something that touches our hearts. That is what makes the video below so moving. The subject of the video is a child living on the street and after watching it, it may actually move you to take action. One thing is certain, it’s impossible to watch the video and not feel touched by what you see.
We realize that children living on the street is a reality but in this video, the child is not homeless. It’s a young boy standing out in the cold with a T-shirt and no shoes. What you’re actually seeing is a social experiment to see what people would do when they saw the young child standing there. He’s in the middle of a city and trying to tuck himself into a garbage bag to keep warm.
For two hours, the young boy stands out in the cold and nobody stops to help. They see what is taking place but rather than take action, they decide to look the other way and continue moving. As you are about the see, however, there is one man who decided to take action and he stopped to check on the young boy.
