Back in 2009, a video advertisement for Evian Water featuring adorable roller-skating babies took the internet by storm. The video of CGI babies performing incredible stunts while shaking their diapers to a catchy hip-hop beat garnered over 3.8 million views on YouTube within its first week.
After hitting play on a giant boom-box, they began their infant-acrobatics.
In the video, the daredevil “roller-babies” jump over fences, railings, as well as each other in a city park.
The roller babies were grooving and moving to a remix of the Sugarhill Gang’s Rapper’s Delight.
The 60-second film was shot at London’s Pinewood Studios as part of Evian’s Live Young International web and video campaign for their mineral water.
At the time, Evian’s worldwide director of brand Michael Aidan said that his company was trying to sell drinkers a “dream.”
He said: “In the majority of countries in recent years, our communication has been very fact-based.
“But consumers expect more from a big brand – emotion, dream. This is what we want to achieve – hence this breakaway and back to roots campaign.”
Well, it seems that the dream still lives on today.
