Gary Sinise is one of those individuals that is well worth watching. We have seen him in many movies and shows in the past, but aside from watching him as an actor, it’s enjoyable to watch him as a human being. After all, he is more than just a famous Hollywood actor, he is a genuine hero and somebody who helps others selflessly. He is an advocate for soldiers and veterans and has stepped forward on his own to help them in many ways.
When it comes to decent human beings, he certainly is near the top of the list. He is leaving a legacy that is going to have people talking about his name for years after he is gone. Perhaps nobody knows this better than Caleb Brewer, a Green Beret sergeant, and native of Tucson, Arizona. He lost both of his legs in Afghanistan and had a number of issues waiting for him when he came home. Fortunately, Sinise was there to help.

Caleb brewer was a Sgt. first class when he joined the Green Berets in 2012. He was deployed in 2015 and lost both of his legs. He ended up suffering from infections, a brain injury, and blood clots. Even though that was the case, he survived and retired in 2016.
Now he is 31 and lives with his family in Tucson, Arizona. He had difficulty getting back to life as normal, especially considering everything he had been through.
Gary Sinise heard what he was going through and decided he would do something about it.
He realized that normal housing would not be suitable so he used the Gary Sinise Foundation to lend a hand. He applied to the RISE program, which stands for Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment. It has the goal of building smart homes for wounded veterans.
Brewer was approved for a smart home in Tucson very quickly. It had the modifications he needed to live in his day-to-day life and he was able to move in February, 2019.
The house has many smart functions, including checking who’s at the door, opening and closing blinds, tilting the mirrors, pocket doors, even checking who’s at the front door.
Brewer said: “It’s incredibly overwhelming in a good way. It doesn’t feel real. I never would’ve expected it in a million years.”
