We may have many memories from when we were younger but if you have spent any amount of time with your family at an amusement park, it probably sparks some great memories. Young couples will go to those parks to enjoy the day and even older couples go to enjoy some of what they have to offer. Perhaps the most common thing that we see at an amusement park, however, is a family enjoying some time together on the rides.
I have been to a number of amusement parks in my life but some of my fondest memories are from Disney, the ‘happiest place on earth’. It just seems that there are so many things to see and do when you are in the park. The family in this article visited that theme park and they were going to be treated to a memory they will not forget. It happened when a little boy got a fantastic surprise and even strangers nearby were brought to tears.
Disney is often referred to as the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’ and it may be true for many reasons. The park was built in 1955 and Disneyland was the only one of their parks that was supervised by Walt Disney.
People go to the Disney parks for many reasons but the rides are often at the top of their list. You may have enjoyed those rides as well, such as Peter Pan, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Indiana Jones or Alice In Wonderland.
One young boy was thrilled to be at Disneyland and he wanted to check out the rides. The problem was, his father was in the Navy and he had been gone for 5 months.
The family was taking pictures of him at Disneyland and he was smiling big. It was obvious that he was having a magical day but things were about to get better.
Someone was sneaking up behind him as he was getting his picture taken. The man was wearing a tan-colored Navy uniform and he squatted behind the child. That is when he turned around and yelled, “Daddy!”
The man smiled at his son and the boy jumped into his arms. The scene was so touching that even the onlookers were moved to clap.
The little boy was overwhelmed with what was happening and his father gave him a kiss on the head. He was smiling and saying about how much his dad had surprised him.
The father let his son know he was home and it was a sweet reunion. The crowd formed around him and couldn’t help but shed a tear.
The father had been gone for months but suddenly, he was back again. It turns out that their trip to Disneyland was happy for a great reason.
