People walking near the US Capitol in Washington DC on Tuesday noticed a strange new statue set up outside the building. It shows Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein posed like the famous Titanic bow scene, arms stretched forward together, the whole thing meant to look like that well known moment from the movie.
The piece is titled “King of the World” and it appeared outside the Capitol without much warning. People passing through the area stopped to look, some confused, others clearly realizing the reference to the Titanic scene where the characters stand at the front of the ship.
A plaque attached to the statue explains the meaning behind the display and spells it out in a long message. The plaque reads: “The tragic love story between Jack and Rose was built on luxurious travel, raucous parties, and secret nude sketches. This monument honors the bond between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, a friendship seemingly built on luxurious travel, raucous parties, and secret nude sketches.”
The group behind the statue calls itself Secret Handshake and they spoke to local media about why they placed it there. They said: “Why? Because 2026 has been a banner year for President Trump, meaning… he’s added giant banners of his face to federal buildings all across DC. We want to help him on his mission by tossing a few of our own in the mix.”
The statue appeared Tuesday and it is not meant to stay permanently. According to the group responsible for the display, the piece will remain outside the Capitol building only for a short time before it is taken away.
Trump and Epstein were known to have had a long friendship years ago. Trump has said he did not know about Epstein’s crimes at the time and has also stated that the two men had already fallen out with each other around the year 2004.
